Hallo! I’ve finished and sort of framed the periodic table? Which is to say that I did frame it but I need to go back and do a better job, including putting a darker backing behind it so the messy back doesn’t show through. Many stitchers work very very hard to make their backs as tidy and beautiful as the fronts. I am not them.
But anyway, I’ve been giving my sewing hand a wee break after overdoing it finishing up that big piece, painting kitties and making a Barbie bed frame and generally faffing around, but I’m happy to say that I’m ok to start embroidering again some as long as I don’t get crazy with it. So, behold the beginnings of a Barbie quilt!
I straight up stole the general layout and background from a block-a-month quilt that was being advertised to me (and it was very tempting even though I have too many projects already and don’t actually quilt). I figure it’s ok – I’m not making this to sell and I’m designing the individual blocks myself, it’s just a woodland creature & flower design on dark blue. This Barbie house is going to give me SO MANY opportunities for wee projects that don’t take a year, hooray!
It’s also low-cost – I’m not claiming it’s a buy nothing project, I bought silk embroidery ribbon and the blue Aida, but I’m aiming for the vast majority of the dollhouse decorating to come from materials I own or thrift. I do NOT need to add more stuff to my home unless it’s made out of stuff I already had 🙂

Places to buy stuff!
Did I miss something? I think that’s everything.

What’s making me happy this week:
I got some squishie dumpling creature toys at Five Below, and I should not be allowed in that store, BUT my most irritating coworker by far comes back from vacation tomorrow so I think stress balls count as a necessary work expense.

The wee FOX though! 😍
