I’ve looked and looked at the Barbie quilt top to see what other critters I wanted to add where and nope, I think it’s done. Next I need to pick out a backing fabric and make it up, deciding somewhere along the way how I most want to sandwich a piece of tinfoil inside it since that’s apparently the trick to getting dollhouse bedding to be able to sculpt laying down nicely over the bed.
BUT IN THE MEANTIME I uploaded my ‘Make Me Happy, Furry Thing’ embroidery to my Redbubble shop since prints of hand embroidery are very very affordable and the actual piece of embroidery is very very not, and it got me in the mood to make a companion piece.

I am ABSOLUTELY doing an embroidery of this one next, I can’t wait (but I will have to a little because I need to get more Aida). My method on the last one so that I could both do precise blackwork AND get really nice satin stitching and a pure white base for the dress was to layer a thin white cotton over Aida, and it worked really well, so I’ll definitely be doing that again. As it happens I have an old bamboo sheet that got worn out in the middle but has plenty of good fabric round the edges, so I’ll likely recycle that into my fabric stash and use some of it for the upper layer on this lady.

Places to buy stuff!
Did I miss something? I think that’s everything.

What’s making me happy this week:
Haus party with awesome friends for Magical Sparkle Muffin’s birthday – delicious food, great and hilarious neard who don’t care if you want to spend part of a party coloring while you talk, and the cutest softest pitbull puppy in the world straight up fell asleep with her head over my arm, holding paws with me, toward the end of the night. I would never have managed to leave if I hadn’t needed to a. got to the bathroom and b. go home to get my Flonase because wow, not taking it at my usual 9 pm led to soooooooo much intermittent coughing. Note to self, pack the Flonase when going out for the evening.
