Weekly thingy and a different project!

I have lots of progress to show on the embroidery BUT I also got my ass in gear and got a lot done on the dress I’m altering into a walking suit for Dickens on the Strand so I think we’ll have a little change of pace today.

You may or may not recall that I bought a costume from our garage sale at work because I knew it was within easy altering range of my size and I couldn’t possibly buy all the silk in it for the cost, let alone the work of making it up.

The bustle drape is just pinned and will absoLUTELY be reworked, among other things I didn’t really mean to create a massive vagina CB. The corset is from other preexisting costumes, and I got the blouse from Poshmark and embroidered the neck a bit. I’ll also be training the skirt back with the bustle more, it’s in that phase where I mess with it, walk away, and then come back fresh to play with it again. And the fabric I picked up for the drape is gorgeous with it, but I’m not sure if just adding the cording to the jacket ties it in enough or if I need to mess with working it into the skirt front more.

What’s making me happy this week:

Truly right now happy is a stretch but Magical Sparkle Muffin in particular is doing a really great job feeding me hopeful election facts so I don’t have a complete meltdown. If for some reason you haven’t voted yet GO DO ITTTTTTT I do not care if you have issues with Kamala or the Democratic Party, none of them will be improved by Trump taking over this fucking country.
