Hi guys! I didn’t ENTIRELY forget to post this weekend because look, a post!
Anyhow, new project begun – I have a specific show I’m hoping to enter this one in and the submission date isn’t till January, so I should make it. Instead of my usual info-dumping about the plan I’m just going 5o show y’all the very rough main figure sketch next to the piece this will be a companion to, and where I am on it at the moment. The poor lady will have a full head of hair pretty soon, I swear.

Places to buy stuff!
Did I miss something? I think that’s everything.

What’s making me happy this week:
Saturday I spent the morning hanging out at Magical Sparkle Muffin’s house with the whole family and the puppy and briefly one of the cats, and it was a lovely time hanging out and visiting and learning to fix a windshield starburst while they did very impressive yard work. Then I came home briefly before realizing that I had ballet tickets with Mom, so I raced back out to go to dinner at Abdallah’s (we happened to be there at the same time as the owner’s grandson’s birthday and thus were given free cake thank you Abdallah’s!) and then saw Rock, Roll, and Tutus at the ballet.
As usual, I thought the first three pieces were much more interesting than the more classical last piece, but they were all great. In particular I loved seeing Rooster again after thirty years – I have remembered a surprising amount of that piece ever since Houston Ballet first did it in 1995 and it’s still a showstopper. And the first piece of the night, ‘what i was thinking while we were waltzing’, was an absolute revelation. I’ll never understand why they always seem to end these modern mixed repertories with the least inventive, most classically inspired piece, but that’s obviously influenced by my preferences in choreography.
