FINISHED! (but not officially photographed) and the weekly thingy.

I am ABSOLUTELY going to have to pay a real photographer with real equipment and lighting to photograph these for real, but here’s the best I could work out at home – I tried several other spots first but this is legit laid out on my bed with me standing on a ladder holding a clip light for slightly more illumination.

But ok, big question time: all along my plan had been to submit these to the next WCA national show as a diptych, titled ‘(re)creation’, but now I’m suddenly unsure. Do I want to submit just the grey toned one on its own? The show is called ‘Independence for Whom?’ and it certainly fits the brief with or without the second half of the story. Are they actually stronger separately? There is also a show coming up in San Antonio called ‘Becoming and Belonging’ that the floral half could absolutely get submitted for on its own, and the two panels are less crazy expensive separated, leaving a chance that one might actually someday sell?

But I’ve spent this whooooole time thinking of this as a two part piece telling one story so I just don’t know. Opinions please!!!

What’s making me happy this week:

I CLEANED MY KITCHEN YESTERDAY this should not be particularly momentous or amazing but look, the last few weeks were crazy. I got sick right after Thanksgiving and was laid up till I went back to work Tuesday and so all the big cleaning I had planned for my time off turned into lying on the couch filling a trash bag with tissues and assorted sick girl detritus. SO, the fact that my kitchen is lovely and tidy now is a big fucking win, let me have this.
