She’s back, and now she’s a Spirit of the Air! I went over the basics of the original story when I posted the Death card – I’m picking up here more or less where the story leaves off. We find out that the little mermaid has become a spirit of the air, who’ll spend 500 years doing good deeds and whatnot and then earn her immortal soul (which was her goal all along; the prince was a means to an end).
I’ve been spending a lot of each week noodling around looking for the right fit for each card, so it was a delight to have this one pop up as a pretty fully fleshed out idea almost immediately. Don’t ask me why, but I feel like I’m going to have an easier time with cups than wands? I’m sort of expecting swords to be hard again, so I should probably tackle that after cups. Pentacles I think will be very doable because I can always work them in as decorative elements instead of having to have a real purpose for them in the scene.
Places to buy stuff!
Did I miss something? I think that’s everything.
What’s making me happy this week:
I got my booster shot and hooray, my body is clearly making antibodies like CRAZY because I feel like shit and have since Friday evening. Fingers crossed I’m improved by tomorrow, I’m pretty desperately needed at work at least in the morning.
It’s nice to be needed? (Weak words of encouragement.) Congrats on the booster.
I just picked up a book that sounds right up your alley, “My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me. Forty New Fairytales.”
