Weeklyish thingy and CATS.

Apologies to my Mastodon pals who have already seen this – I felt fairly safe posting it there since if the cat dads are on Mastodon at all they’re not currently connected to me.

But anyhow – I was catsitting for a work friend and his husband while they went off to get married (Yay!) and could NOT stop taking pictures of their two adorable ridiculous friendly kitties. I mean, of course I couldn’t, every time a cat person sees a cat it’s like it’s the first time they’ve ever seen a cat in terms of excitement level, but also they were soooooooo cute.

Also also I had catsat for my parents a few weeks prior, and Skippy is a very frustrating kitty to sit for because while he will allow some limited contact when his parents are home he is absolutely not having me when they’re away. So having two babies who wanted scritches and love both made me feel better about them doing ok without their daddies, AND made me feel better because see, Skippy? MOST CATS LIKE ME.

So I spent a couple of days thinking about what to do for a wedding gift, which was challenging because the couple in question are super clean and minimal in their living space (extremely not my aesthetic) and adults who’d been together for years and don’t need the traditional household setup stuff. It took longer than it should have to occur to me that I could give them a cat painting, but I got there in the end.
