Weeklyish thingy and ANOTHER another kitty.

You were expecting another cat, I hope? I really am on a bit of a roll right now.

This will be a gift, but a. I’m not married to it being a surprise and b. It still will be because the friend it’s for is practically never online.

This is also a phone photo instead of a nice cleaned up scan because I have once again painted a little bigger than my scanner can take, so I’ll be scanning it for real on break at work sometime this week.

Anyhoo, deciding to paint from a picture with a book in it complicated life somewhat. I messed with a bunch of ideas, but finally I scanned in the painting in the early stages, scanned my big hardback Narnia book open to a good Aslan scene, used photoshop to paste the pages into the painting and warp them to fit correctly. Then I took out the painting layer and printed the text on an iron on t-shirt transfer. Finally, after ironing it on, I went back and softened up some shadows at the edge of the transfer and added book details and voila!

What’s making me happy this week:

MSM is BLAZING through Buffy now, and while part of me wants to hear her commentary and thoughts and guesses at every step, I’m mostly just happy I don’t have to hide my Willow and Tara sticker from her anymore. Hooray she knows the thing!
