Weeklyish thingy and what’s this? A cat???

Wheeeee I’m working on an actual commissioned piece right now, with two more in the queue, so prepare yourselves for knitting updates or randomness till those are done and handed off to their owners. BUT I got to give the last gift portrait for a bit to my friend P yesterday, and I’m not sure it’s good form to make a friend cry five minutes after they walk into a low key party? I may need to pick my moments better.

This is Carl when he was a kitten and I swear only the flower ring was my whimsical addition – he actually decided this actual garden gnome made a good couch because imagination can never improve on cats.

What’s making me happy this week:

I think I mentioned above – lowkey hangout party with friends and giving an awesome buddy a present, yay! BUT ALSO Mooch had big dental work not quite two weeks ago, and then had to go back to the vet because he was completely refusing to eat (if you don’t have cats, they are complete jackasses and will starve themselves into kidney failure very quickly – ‘if he’s hungry he’ll eat’ does not apply). But my excellent vet got him on more pain meds and an antibiotic and an appetite stimulant, and he’s now happily eating the squishy kibble soaked in broth that I couldn’t get him to consider before. We go back to the vet AGAIN Tuesday morning, but just to make sure the sutures have dissolved and all is well, and then hopefully he’ll have approval to go back to the crunchy kibble that is the only thing he likes. I’m going to keep trying to get him interested in wet food as well as dry so I have options in the future, but I don’t hold out much hope at this point. Whatever, he’s EATING!
