You know what’s great about blackwork? Put enough of it together and you really stop noticing the individual wonky stitches.
A careful and precise planner would have worked out the tile sizes in stitch numbers and made them all perfectly identical, ready to be filled with lovely symmetrical identical designs.
I, however, am an impulsive flibbertigibbet, and I came to terms some time ago with the fact that I will never be the kind of artist who does precise geometric lines or perfectly tidy backs, so I’m embracing the variation inherent in the way I work.

Places to buy stuff!
Did I miss something? I think that’s everything.

What’s making me happy this week:
This is going to be a long and chaotic week at work, but Saturday I got to go see The Little Mermaid at the ballet, and it was STELLAR. The choreographer told the story framed by a poet representing our favorite Bisexual Disaster©️, Hans Christian Andersen, and it was dark and emotional and just stunning. 15/10, if you’re in Houston see if you can get a ticket before it closes. (I’d be worried I was over praising because I am obviously the precise target audience for this, but everyone we talked to on the way out loved it too)
