Weekly (for now, fingers crossed) thingy!

Progress! I’m sort of playing around with how knitted vs. real I want all of the other cats to look; I think I’ll be doing most of the background kitties more realistically and let the fact that they’ll each match a ball of yarn in the basket make it clear that they were all knitted to life.

What’s making me happy this week:

I painted my kitchen and I’m almost done fixing up my big bathroom mirror to look better, yay! The old owner put up a massive frameless mirror with screws through holes in the four corners and clearly he ran into trouble with the fourth screw, couldn’t get it all the way into the wall, and just left it sticking out about 3/4”. ALSO, the silvering on the mirror is super patchy and sad around all of the screw holes and at the edges. SO. I got an adhesive stainless steel strip, 1/2” wide, and put it over the very edges to clean those up, and I found a set of four wood filigree corner pieces to cover the screw holes. Those are just waiting for the paint to dry before I mount them, but I’m very excited to see it all done. Yay tiny inexpensive DIY stuff making my place look more finished!
