Weekly thingy and a quick break for a different project

I have more embroidery progress to share but hopefully I’ll post about that in a few days. For now, since my mother has been given her birthday present and I no longer need to keep it a surprise, a quick detour into wallet making.

The bunny fabric is something y’all have definitely seen before – so far I’ve made a dress and a knitting bag out of it and I still have some decent scraps – but I did add a little copper to the eyes and silver on the edge of the moon. The zippers, dusty pink grosgrain, lace applique, and navy print are also from my stash; I bought fat quarters of the mottled aqua fabric and the orange paisley because I didn’t love anything else in my stash with what I had chosen already.

I made myself a patchwork wallet like this years ago, then did a bunch for gifts including several over the years for Mom because I know she wears them out pretty reliably. It’s one of those projects people always look at and say ‘ooh you could totally sell those!’ so let me just cut that off at the pass and say that if you are not personally interested in paying me $250 to make you one, you should reconsider suggesting that you know what I can sell where. (If you WOULD like a custom wallet made and that price works for you by all means reach out to me.)

What’s making me happy this week:

I spent Saturday hanging out with Magical Sparkle Muffin and friends while they gave a six year old a delightful spa day with temporary hair dye, nail polish, perfume try ons, and fancy rainbow makeup. It was a DELIGHT. Also, many puppy kisses were had, and six ear old plus barely one year old dog is an excellent combo.
