Weekly thingy and an old project rises from the pile!

I do have a bunch of progress to show y’all on the latest embroidery, but since this one is going to move slower between less time off work and more blackwork sections I feel good about a quick break with an older piece.

I am the WORST about not leaving large enough margins at the edges of my fabric, I cannot be stopped from squeezing just a little more sewing in, and then I’m left trying to work out how to finish the piece. ALSO with this one my usual control of tension abandoned me somewhat, so the water has waves in it that cannot be stretched out because of the tighter stitching on the grass and moss and such. Luckily it’s water, right?

Anyhoo this has been sort of half-assedly shoved into a frame on my wall for ages, but I spotted a ribbon I liked for edging it at JoAnn’s yesterday, so Anne can finally float down to Camelot in some kind of dignity (till her boat sinks at least). I just put a scan of the embroidery up on Redbubble in case anyone wants to own a print of this instead of spending the $1500 I’d have to charge for the real thing!

Places to buy stuff!

Did I miss something?  I think that’s everything.

What’s making me happy this week:

The garage sale at work was just as exhausting as expected (thus no post last week) and the work week was WILD and a lot in almost every possible way, BUT I did get to buy the 18th century dress I had my eye on at the sale so yay for that. I’ll show y’all pics once I start reworking it – I have PLANS – but I found some gorgeous buttons on clearance that are totally perfect for the 19th century walking suit I’m turning it into and while I wish JoAnn’s HADN’T chosen to ship my dozen buttons in, like, 5 separate packages of random amounts, it does mean I get to open a bag of pretty buttons every few days.

Wow what a beautiful embroidery! I especially love the water and the 3 dimensionality of the river bank and the blanket draped over the side of the boat.
