No embroidery progress shot today because I am in the process of stretching it on the frame, so there’s just not going to be much to see till that’s done.

But since the friends this was painted for have it now I can share with the rest of y’all. This gorgeous calico girl had at least 19 years of amazing sassy life, and I’m in love with her just from the pictures Magical Sparkle Muffin sent me alone, and so glad she trusted me to memorialize Sarah for her parents.
Related, I finally set up an Etsy listing for commissioned pet portraits. Right now literally all of my sample paintings are cats, but I owe MSM’s household a puppy portrait and I want to play around with painting some reptiles and see how solid I feel on getting them right. I grew up with a house full of both cats and iguanas, so I feel pretty confident that I can get some nice likenesses.

Places to buy stuff!
Did I miss something? I think that’s everything.

What’s making me happy this week:
As anticipated, Mooch’s teeth needed more removals than initially apparent – 4 had resorptive lesions and 2 of his teeny tiny bottom teeth were just super loose, soooooo that was a fun $900. This still goes under this heading though because HE’S EATING. At the moment Royal Canin Instinctive and Fancy Feast seafood flavoured weird gravy topped pyramids are the two reliable winners, and of course they’re two of the more expensive options available, but if he’ll eat it I’ll buy it.
The vet also sent us home with an extra pain med that I can squirt in his mouth every twelve hours as needed, and while he of course hates that it did get us over the hump of the worst discomfort when the pillls alone didn’t quite do it. He’s doing some playing and eating today without it, so I’ll keep watching for signs of discomfort but for now he gets to be undrugged.
