Fortnightly thingy and the Two of Pentacles/The Three Little Men
This story is a bit of an amalgam of Snow White and Diamonds and Toads – you’ve got an evil stepmother, the stepdaughter being sent out to do impossible tasks, mysterious little men in the woods, and rewards for being generous and hardworking/punishment for being selfish and lazy. There’s something about this image in particular that I fell in love with – the poor girl being sent out into the snow in a paper dress to somehow find ripe strawberries in the dead of winter (I couldn’t resist giving her paper arm wraps and a paper scarf too).
