This is really something of a preview — I think I’m going to do this one again on a mini canvas and paint it so that I can get the Vermeer light and richness, and that characteristic wash of Van Dyke brown, instead of just a line drawing.  Also, the fact that he looks like Lord Byron in his little owl turban is giving me thoughts. . .
