Weekly thingy and very unwise choices.

Hi all, I haven’t been fully sitting on my hands, but I haven’t been wildly productive either. I did finally pick a background fabric for the knittens embroidery and get started laying out the basic shapes, though.

But yeah, this is a dumb fabric to choose and all I can tell you is I had it in my stash and it’s what I want, so there. High on the light of reasons it’s a bad choice is that both the satin texture and the rose motifs make it very hard to trace an outline visibly onto the fabric, either from the top with tracing paper or the bottom with a light table. I managed to get her face and upper body with tracing paper, the Knitten in progress and skirt outlines by basically making a paper doll template to trace around, and I’m free handing everything else with spit pen in small sections so I never have to leave the ink in the fabric for long.
