The weekly thingy that isn’t so weekly and I hope y’all still like trees.

I didn’t forget to post recently, I just wasn’t sure that continuing to add more trees is super interesting for y’all to look at? But now there are many trees (or at least tree trunks) so it seems worth sharing again.

In case you’re wondering, there will eventually be some branches – not a ton, but some. I’m basically waiting till all the trunks are in so I can overlap correctly depending on tree placement, and I have some ideas about wrapping thread around wire for some of the foreground branches so they can be partially off the backing. You may also notice more variation in the tree threads – all of the ones that are floss are using a mix of the variegated grey/white/cream/lavender thread held together with different solids – a darker cream, a pale grey, and a white so far, plus the differences between the DMC and knockoff thread provide variation. But while I was ordering more Squall from DMC I also got a white and grey variegated wool baby yarn to play with, so right now the third tree from your left and the fourth tree from your right are yarn for extra texture.

What’s making me happy this week:

I’m back at work for several days after most of a week off, and while the back at work isn’t the thing making me particularly happy, having a summer of short work weeks to look forward to is. If I could afford it I feel like always working 3-4 day weeks would be so magical for my sanity and the general cleanliness of my place (not that I didn’t also spend substantial time being lazy and dicking around on my phone).
