I made it to figure drawing at Archway Gallery Sunday for the first time in ages, want to see some sketches?
The only drawing that would normally involve a penis is vague in that area, so really the most you’re about to see is nipples and butts.

Break and model switch time!

Annnnd that technically wasn’t my last drawing of the day, but the very last one was so rushed and incomplete that it’s not very interesting. This model chose for his final pose to be lying on his back with one knee pulled up to his chest, and I was at the angle where that meant I was basically looking at foot and scrotum. So I went back and shaded the first standing lady, wandered around looking for a better angle, and then by the time I went to the other model area instead I was kind of out of the flow and running out of time.
Still, a great day’s drawing, plus I got to preview the show since I’ll be out of town for the opening. I love the sculpture they paired my piece with.

Places to buy stuff!
Did I miss something? I think that’s everything.

What’s making me happy this week:
Knittens! was accepted into Archway Gallery’s Eighteenth Annual Juried Exhibition. This was another very competitive show, so I’m delighted to have made it in. The bad news is that I won’t be able to attend the opening – because I’ll be in Lorton, VA at the opening of the WCA National Show. Hopefully too many art openings on the same night is a good excuse for missing it but I am kind of embarrassed to be going out of town for one opening when there’s another happening half an hour from my home. What can I say, the trip is planned, Mom and I are both interested in the mini-conference happening in VA that weekend along with it, the pet sitter is booked, it’s happening.
